چکیده

This paper presents an approach for solving geometric constraint problems using auxiliary constructions. This approach converts a description of constrained geometry into a sequential ruler-and-compass construction, thereby converting variational geometry constraints into parametric geometry. The solution strategy is based on constructing auxiliary geometry and new constraints by systematically applying transformations to parts of the original constraint problem. The transformation of constraints results in creation of new constraint chains, yielding new paths in the constraint graph. Use of auxiliary constraints can thus decompose strongly connected components in the original constraint graph and provide an additional method for breaking loops due to simultaneous reference. The approach is demonstrated in two dimensions.

Automatic Reasoning for Design Under Geometric Constraints

Parametric design is very stable but requires a predefined dimensioning and ordering scheme, thus limiting flexibility and precluding sketch input. Variational geometry design, while general and flexible, necessitates intensive use of numerical solvers to solve many simultaneous nonlinear equations. Frequently the solvers cannot solve these equations. A new system, based on an original theory f...

Classification and Solving of Merge Patterns in Geometric Constraint Solving

A basic idea of geometric constraint solving is to divide a large geometric constraint problem into several subproblems according to certain patterns and then to merge these subproblems to obtain a solution to the original problem. In this paper, we give a classification of the basic merge patterns in 2D when solving a constraint problem with generalized construction sequences. We obtain the an...

Planar Generalized Stewart Platforms and Their Direct Kinematics

In this paper, we introduce the concept of planar generalized Stewart platform (GSP) consisting of two rigid bodies connected with three constraints between three pairs of geometric primitives in the two rigid bodies respectively. This problem can be treated as a special but important class of geometric constraint solving problems. We show that there exist sixteen forms of planar GSPs. We also ...

An Interactive Constraint-Based Graphics System with Partially Constrained Form-Features

The paper considers a 2D constraint-based geometric modelling system which distinguishes between an auxiliary and a visual geometry. The former consists of points, lines, and circles, and the later includes line segments, arcs, circles and cubic Bézier curve segments. Geometric constraints are applied only upon the auxiliary geometry. Some constraints and the majority of auxiliary geometry are ...

Investigation of geometric parameters of seawalls on the amount of earth subsidence and its horizontal displacement by FLAC 3D software

Seawalls are built for Protecting of beaches against waves and preventing the progression of water to the beach. For a proper understanding about these constructions, a suiTable information about applied loads on these constructions should be existed. One of the important load that applied on these constructions is sea wave. Others loads are included: weight force of the walls, weight force of ...
